General Terms and Conditions

Cleanliness is next to godliness

Please clean any spillage, tidy any mess and leave no trace. Recycling bins are provided, if they’re full please let us know.

Refreshments and Food

Please enjoy the complimentary teas, coffees and fruit and wash up after yourself. With the exception of a quick snack, please eat food at the bar and clean up afterwards. The fridge will be cleared of any leftovers at weekends.

Calls and meetings

Please be considerate when taking calls and holding meetings, if the meeting room and phone booth are booked, the conversation pit offers some privacy. If using headphones to take calls, please be aware that you may be talking more loudly than you realise.

Dogs

A well behaved pooch is a source of good vibes, however, if your dog becomes yappy or unsettled the tranquility is spoilt. Please take unruly dogs to the beach for a swim.

Children

To maintain the tranquility of the workspace, children aren’t allowed.

Guests

You are welcome to bring guests to Faith In Strangers. For security, please register them before they arrive, check them into the building and ensure that they follow the house rules.

FAITH IN STRANGERS MEMBERSHIP TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1 NAME AND PROPRIETOR

1.1 The business, referred to as “Faith In Strangers” shall operate and trade under that name, is Faith in Strangers Limited - Company No: 11145283 – (“Proprietor”). 1.2 In consideration for the mutual benefits exchanged by Faith In Strangers undersigned (“You”, the “Member”, collectively the “members”), the members hereby agree, warrant, consent and covenant to the following terms, conditions and representations:

2 LOCATION

Faith in Strangers shall be located at Ethelbert Crescent, Margate, CT92DY.

3 PURPOSE

Faith in Strangers’ purpose is to serve as a space for a diverse community of people interested in art, music and culture as a catalytic platform for shared experiences, social change, learning, entrepreneurial ideas and workspace.

4. USE

You agree not to use the working space in connection with:

(a) Lottery contests, pyramid schemes, chain letters, junk email, spamming or similar behaviour; (b) Defaming, abusing, harassing, threatening or otherwise violating the legal rights (such as privacy and publicity) of others; (c) Posting, distributing or disseminating inappropriate, profane, defamatory, obscene, indecent, or unlawful material or information; (d) Uploading, reproducing, using, performing or otherwise making available, images, software or other material or information which infringes another’s rights, or is protected by intellectual property laws where you don’t own or license such rights; and

(e) Uploading or using files that contain viruses, corrupted files, or any other similar software or programs that may damage the computers or property of the Co-Working Space or another member.

  1. Changes
    The rules and policies of the working space may change from time to time. We will notify members of material changes.

4 MEMBERSHIP

4.1 Faith in Strangers currently has two membership categories. These can primarily be described as for those looking to use the space for working pursuits ‘Workspace Member’ and for those looking to use the space as a social setting and to attend events ‘Social Member’ 4.2 Workspace Membership entitles access to use the space during working hours (Monday to Friday - 08:00-18:00) or when there are no private social events or proceedings taking place. Workspace Membership inherently includes all of the benefits and access of a Social membership. 4.3 Social membership allows access during the weekends and in the evenings, to attend social events or to simply congregate and relax. 4.4 Non-members can gain access as guests of members or by purchasing tickets to events that are open to the public. 4.5 You are subscribing to the following membership category at Faith In Strangers.

Workspace Member for £100 plus VAT totaling £120 per month.

5 ADMISSION

5.1 Faith in Strangers has the right to determine the maximum number of Members at any point in time. 5.2 Members are entitled to invite two guests into Faith in Strangers at any one time and must adhere to the fair usage policy. On occasions when a member needs more guests, contact must be made with Faith In Strangers management. 5.3 Individuals must be 18 years of age or older to apply. 5.6 Faith in Strangers requires that each Membership Application Form submitted shall provide full and honest disclosure about the person applying for Membership. 5.7 Faith in Strangers’ management shall notify successful applicants that their application or nomination for Membership has been successful and invite them to register as a Member. 5.8 Unsuccessful applicants shall be informed that their application for Membership has not been successful at that time. Faith in Strangers shall not be required to give any reasons to an applicant in the event of their application for Membership being unsuccessful.

6 MEMBERSHIP TERMS AND CONDITIONS

6.1 All admissions to the Membership are subject to a Member confirming their acceptance and continued compliance with these Terms and Conditions. 6.2 Whilst at Faith in Strangers, a Member shall be required to comply with our House Rules at all times.

7 MEMBERSHIP FEES

7.1 Faith in Strangers shall determine the Membership Fees from time to time in its sole discretion. Any increase to the Membership Fees will be notified to a Member before renewal of their Membership under clause 9. 7.2 All Membership Fees are to be paid one month in advance on the 24th of each month using the GoCardless direct debit system only. Faith In Strangers does not accept, bank transfers or cash. 7.3 A Member acknowledges that their Membership shall only be confirmed by Faith in Strangers on receipt of the Membership Fee payable in advance upon becoming a Member 7.4 A Member’s continued Membership is subject to payment of their Membership Fees in full and on time.

8 MEMBERSHIP CARDS

8.1 Upon admission to Faith in Strangers, a Member will be issued with a digital membership card. 8.3 A Member acknowledges that their Membership is not transferable or assignable, unless Faith in Strangers agrees otherwise in writing. In addition, a Member providing their membership card to non-members to gain access to Faith in Strangers will be subject to possible termination of their Membership.

9 MEMBERSHIP TERM, RENEWAL AND CANCELLATION

9.1 A Member’s Membership term shall be one month until the end of the following month from the date Faith in Strangers approves their registration as a Member (“Membership Registration Date”). I.e Joined 14th April then the term will end 31st May. 9.2 A Member will have their Membership automatically renewed every month. 9.3 Where a Member does not wish to renew their Membership, the Member must notify Faith in Strangers in writing of their wish not to renew one month prior. 9.4 Where Faith in Strangers has not received notification in writing from the Member that they do not wish to renew their Membership within the above timeframe Faith in Strangers shall automatically renew their Membership, subject to the provisions of clause 9.5 9.5 Notwithstanding a Member’s wish to renew their Membership, Faith in Strangers may in its sole discretion decide: 9.5.1 not to renew any Membership, irrespective of whether the relevant Member is in breach of these Terms and Conditions or not; or 9.5.2 to propose a change in the Membership Category of the Member.

10 EXPULSION OR SUSPENSION

10.1 Where a Member is more than one payment in arrears on their Membership Fees, Faith in Strangers may terminate their Membership upon 7 days’ written notice. 10.2 Where a Member is in breach of these Terms and Conditions, Faith in Strangers may decide to expel or suspend a Member from the Membership, provided that such Member has been given the opportunity to put their case in writing.

11 SABBATICAL

11.1 Faith In Strangers does not offer a sabbatical option for membership unless the circumstances are: 11.1.1 - Maternity or Paternity leave. 11.1.2 - Serious Illness 11.2 In the case of Maternity or Paternity Leave, a member may request a sabbatical for up to six months by written request (with a suspension of Membership Fees). A member may still use Faith in Strangers during this period and benefit from full member benefits. 11.2.1 In the case of serious illness a member may request a sabbatical for up to three months. 11.3 Faith In Strangers retains sole discretion over whether to grant a Member a sabbatical from their Membership. However, in any event, a Member may only be granted a sabbatical once every five years, unless there are exceptional circumstances. 15 LIABILITY 15.1 Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits or excludes Faith in Strangers’s liability for death or personal injury caused by Faith in Strangers’s negligence or any other liability which cannot be limited or excluded by applicable law. 15.2 Except as set out above in this clause 15, Faith in Strangers’s liability to a Member arising or in connection to a Membership or use of Faith in Strangers in contract, tort or otherwise shall not exceed the sum of the annual Membership Fees paid by the Member.

15.3 A Member acknowledges they are responsible for their personal property and belongings whilst at Faith in Strangers (and the personal property and belongings of their guests). Faith in Strangers shall not be responsible for any loss or damage howsoever caused to a Member’s (or their guests) personal property or belongings whilst at Faith in Strangers.

17 VARIATION

Faith in Strangers may amend these Terms and Conditions or the House Rules at any time upon 30 days’ written notice to the Members at its absolute discretion.

18 DATA PRIVACY

Faith in Strangers shall handle personal information provided by a Member or prospective Member in accordance with Faith in Strangers’s privacy policy.

19 ENTIRE AGREEMENT

These Terms and Conditions (and the documents referred to in them) constitute the entire agreement between Faith in Strangers and the Member in relation to its subject matter and supersedes and extinguishes all previous agreements, representations and understandings between Faith in Strangers and the Member, whether written or oral, relating to its subject matter.

20 SEVERANCE

If any provision or part-provision of these Terms and Conditions are or become unenforceable, it shall be deemed modified (or, if not possible, deleted) to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, which shall not affect the enforceability of the rest of these Terms and Conditions.

22 NOTICES

22.1 Any notice given to a party under or in connection with these Terms and Conditions shall be in writing and shall be sent by email to Faith in Strangers at hello@faithinstrangers.co.uk.

23 GOVERNING LAW

23.1 These Terms and Conditions, and any dispute or claim (including non-contractual disputes or claims) arising out of or in connection with their subject matter or formation shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with the law of England and Wales.

23.2 Faith in Strangers and a Member each agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim (including non-contractual disputes or claims) relating to these Terms and Conditions or their subject matter or formation.

24 DEFINITIONS

24.1 The following definitions shall apply in these Terms and Conditions:

“House Rules”: Faith in Strangers’ rules of conduct which a Member is to comply with whilst at Faith in Strangers to safeguard the use and enjoyment of Faith in Strangers by its members and their guests.

“Member”: “Membership”: a member of Faith in Strangers.

“Membership Application Form/Membership Nomination Form:” the forms used to apply or nominate an individual to join Faith in Strangers

“Membership Benefits”: The membership benefits which apply to a Member in relation to their Membership Category.

“Membership Category”: The category of Membership a Member holds.

“Membership Fees”: The membership fees payable by a Member for their Membership with such membership fees reflecting the Membership Category of the Member.

8. Non-Disclosure

In your presence at Faith In Strangers you may learn of confidential information of the Company or of its members. Such confidential information may include business information, trade secrets, technology, processes, customers and prospects that is intended to be confidential and proprietary. You hereby agree and consent to not disclose information that you obtain that was intended to remain confidential.
